Handheld computer owners are a rapidly growing market segment for any event manager. Tapping into handheld technology to provide this audience with "fingertip access" to the vast amounts of information associated with conferences, trade shows, and other large-scale events is an affordable way to demonstrate a commitment to both convenience and evolving technology.
MetaGuide - a mobile, wireless-enabled conference and event guide used to provide event attendees with instant access to detailed, up-to-the-minute information - has been designed to meet this need.
Benefits
- Custom Tailoring. MetaGuide features a series of options that conference planners can select from to create a solution that is unique to their conference needs, including detailed information on daily schedules, registration, keynote speakers, workshops, sponsor listings, social events, and more.
- Searchable Exhibitor Database. Searching can be done alphabetically, by subject, or by entering a keyword or phrase, allowing users to find information based on several different paths.
- Easy Distribution. MetaGuide can be distributed as an attachment to an e-mail, as a downloadable application from a web site, or by beaming it using the infrared port on the handheld computer or on-site continuous beaming kiosks.
- Logo Visibility. Corporate or event logos are centrally located on the Splash Page (opening screen) of the application.
- Event Diagrams/Maps. MetaGuide can include several interactive maps, which feature the ability to tap on a booth number and be linked directly to the exhibitor profile.
- General Information (FAQ). A section with basic questions about the event may be included to assist attendees with general inquiries, creating a more knowledgeable attendee base.
- Tourism Information. Organizers can use this option as a revenue-generating tool. Information can be included on local hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, etc. Organizers can charge local businesses a listing fee to be included in their application (fee to be determined by the organizer).
- Personalized Agenda. Attendees can create their own conference schedule by choosing specific events and sessions they would like to attend and then add them to their Palm Date Book.
